The Pellicle Membranes
Excellent membrane mirror for adaptive optic systems
Pellicles are very thin organic polymer membranes bonded to lapped polishing sitall
ceramic glass ring.
Ghost images are eliminated by the thinness of the membrane, as
the second surface reflection, for all practical purposes, superimposes on the first
surface reflection. The uncoated pellicle reflects from 2% to 16 % and transmits
from 98% to 84% throughout the visible and infrared regions and depend on
thickness and wavelength. Absorption is imperceptible. All pellicles are mounted on
a precision black anodized, hard aluminum holder.
